Summer vacation events

In this summer vacation, I enjoyed a lot of event! It is my first vacation since I entered university. It is prolonged for electricity deficit. So I could spend great time.

 I want to talk about my circle activity. I am belonging to light music circle and literature circle.

In light music circle, I played live performance. I played 3 songs. It was very exciting! Finishing performance, many senior students praised me, I was glad to hear it. I am not good at communicate with a lot of people. So I had not participated in after party. But that time, I take part in party for the first time. Talking with many first grade students, I found I was seen as senior student because I was not known excepting a few friends. When I talking with them, I make a lot of friend. It was very good party. And I was asked to participate in a band for Sophia Festival. So I am looking for it, I can't wait! But songs I'm going to play is pretty difficult, I have to practice much!

 In literature circle, I went on a summer camp. We went to the Karuizawa, where is famous for summer resort, because there is very cool and a lot of natural landmarks. When we arrived at Karuizawa, we go to Waterfall of Shiraito. This waterfall's water flow like a white thread, so called Shiraito. It had beautiful view and clean, cold water. The sound of flow relaxed my feelings. After that, we go to Japanese style hotel. We had delicious meal (I was forced to eat others' food!). And taking bus, and after it, we play table tennis. Playing table tennis after a bath, it is Japanese practice in Japanese hotel! It was very exciting, but we get a lot of sweat again. After that, we talked about literature. The theme is science fiction novel. I asked my friend "what is charm of science fiction?" My friend answers that "Science fiction has unusual settings, but story has character a lot of people shared, it is emphasizing human's spirit. It is very interesting." when I heard it, I admired his opinion, and became interested in Science Fiction. It was very special camp!
 And I participated in reading party of world literature. It deals with short stories around the world. I participated in big reading party, so I feel nervous. When party started, I astonished that participants express very detailed opinion about short stories. I interested an opinion. It is that, stage has an effect on story. For example, a story has stage of eruption of volcano.  This story's hero meets a girl suffer from disaster and talking with her, he fined his suppressed trauma, and he became weak man. This change is his explosion of his suppressed past. It is like eruption. So this story's stage has a role on this story. I had thought stage is only settings, but I understand a lot of material construct story. I had very important study!
It was very exciting experience.  Autumn semester has started, I want to get more experience, so I'll try a lot of things!

this semester is going to finish. I feel it was very long.


In this weekend, I cleaned my room for the first time in a long time. Using this opportunity, I organized books which I finished to read.

This is my collection since I started to live alone in Tokyo. they reach 34 books. By arranging like that,I satisfy myself with this quantity. But there are alot of books that I want to read. So I need more time. books gave me energy. When I finish to read books, my impression of books made me more positive or more thoughtful about something. So I will respect this valuable experiences. I usually buy books at second hand book store. this place is very interesting for me. Sometimes I can nice book at very cheap price.


When I started university life, about three months have passed, but I don't accustome my style to new enviropnment. But I could make some friends, so my life is not so bad.


In  my previous article, I talk about Bob Dylan's song. I study about it, so I want to pick up Bob Dylan.

I'll introduce Bob Dylan's song Forever Young and talk about my idea, what is youth? Firstly, I'm going to give you plain explain about Bob dylan. He is very famous singer song writer in US. He is praised by Allen Ginsberg. The Rolling Stones, well known band in Britain,choose him “world's most great 100 singers in history” as No.7.Now, I'd like to talking about this song. He made this song for his son. So, this song is warm. And he wishes hapiness. Following is this song's lyric.

The word “May” expresses his hope.And say “May you stay forever young”. In fact, being young is very good thing. But we can't stay young forever. Is it simply his wish? What is youth? I think being young is enjoying everything freshly. I want to introduce very interesting translation of this lyrics.Recently, this song became a picture book.Interestingly, this book translate The Phrase “Forever Young” into the words “beginning days”. It says everyday is your beginning days.

Our life with filled with new days. So, if we enjoy our days, we may keep our youth.

I think loving everyday's life keep us young.So, I want to make a conclusion in this words.

My home work is going to finish. I think this experience is worth trying. I always practice only reading for exam, so through this homework, I can practice writing in daily life. I'll practice more and more! good bye.

July has started.Recently,summer vacation approaches to me, and I become more rude. So I want to change my attitude. But when I face desk, I always stop thinking. I sometimes hear "it is not true motivation move human, but one's act produce one's motivation".  I think it is true, but this first step is very difficult to put into practce. There are lot of time which can use for only me in summer vacation. So I want to make use of it well.

I always stay home, so I don't have enough topic about this blog. So I want to talk about summer. When I went my way to home, I heard a sound. it is like glasses hit each other, tinkle-rinkle.  This is Japan's special feature of summer season, it is called "hu-rin". When we hear this sound, we feel cool although outside is very hot.  Sound can change human's feeling, it is very great thing! I like a lot of sounds, water flow, rain, cutting vegetables, breeze shaking trees and so on.

I'm going to travel to Hiroshima prefecture in this summer vaction.There is several delicious food, okonomiyaki,Chinese noodle. In hiroshima, we can see streetcars. this is very expensive and tasteful transportation. I suppose to met old friend there. I am looking forward to meet he. He is very nice guy. He is Hiroshima university student. I want to visit Onomichi with him. Onomichi is very famous tourist spot in Hiroshima prefecture. This place has very japanese townscape facing with sea. Houses are crowded in hill. So old japanese road wind along these house, and called "town of hill". In this town, a lot of cat inhabits. Cats match this old japanese landscape, so this town is often featured on cat magazines. I like cat very much. But real factor that I want to visit there is another one. It is my favirite animation, "Kami-chu". It is story about junior high school student who becomes japanese kami(like god). In japan, people believe kami dwell in everything and called Yaoyorozu no kami(countless god). Have you ever watched the movie "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi"("Spirited Away" in English)? If you have watched it , you can understand that a lot of kami exist in Japan. In this animation,"Kami-chu", a lot of kami come on stage, and they are very cute and kind. So I like this animation. This animation locate Onomichi as stage, and landscape is drawn  elaborately.  When I watched this animation, I started to admire to go there. This is the biggest reason. But also I am looking forward to meet my friend. So this trip will ought to be very joyful trip.

I am university student, so I will be not able to enjoy summer vacation close future. So I think I make use of it! this joyful time is very short! So enjoy full of it!  Happy forme, there some friends enjoying this summer eith me!

Today, I'll talking about cat and litertaure.
I read Paul Galico's two books.He is American writer. He is very famous for his love to cat. The title of two books are “Jennie” and “The Silent miaow”. These stories feature on cat. First, I'll talk about “Jennie”.This story's plain plot is that, Peter, this story's hero, is eight year old boy.
He like cat very much. So, oneday, he sees very cute little cat.
He feel like to touch this cat, and he foot into traffic road.
At the moment, a car crashes into him. He loses his consciousness.
When he come to consciousness, he notice he becomes white cat!
His cat life begins. This is plain introduction.
But there are a lot of danger. He verges on death.
Then, he is rescued by fellow cat, Jennie.He knows nothing about cat's way of the life, Because he was a human previously.
Jennie is kind enough to teach him the way how to survive in cat's world.
I think this is most interesting point in this story.
So, I'll introduce you one cat's way of the life through this story.It is grooming. Jennie says, “First rule is that, If you cause any kind of doubt,groom yourself.”
according to her explanation, every cats must not disturb grooming. And if you are involved in any situation and challenges, groom youself, and every thing is all right!
It is very interesting lesson! This is very interesting guess.
When you see cat grooming, this cat may have some problem.


By the way, have you ever thought cat understands about human?
I think people who have cats often this phrase.
“it is not true that human have cat, but cats have human”. I had had cat. So I think so.
If you read “The Silent miaow, you should understand intelligence of cat.
Interestingly, this book applies the form that cat writer wrote for cat.
This book filled with tips for cat's life.
In first chapter, this book explain how to conquer human's house!
This book's atuthor, female cat says, “ you can change everything within one night. Human's house, even tradition no longer be their property, and then, human become living for cat.”
When I read this book, I found we, human is very silly creature, and cats are very clever.


I like cat, so I feel these two story very interesting. cat is very selfish and lazy, but very cute.
I had had a cat in my parents' home. she always neglect me except feeding time.
She always want feed very early morning, but I sleep yet. So she meiw with a loud voice in front of door to my room.
For her, it is merely a action to feed, but for me who silly creature, it is like a love from her.
I wake up willingly, and feed her.  But when I move to Tokyo, there is no person who awakes me.
So now, I'm very lazy oversleeping man.  I want to change this habit. but it is very difficult.
 

the yellow wallpaper

This story was very hard to read. So I proceeded slowly. I feel this story is very horrible. There is only thing disturbing her mind. It is yellow wallpaper. But she draw a lot of unpleasant information from it. I think person who has ordinary condition can't imagine so much from one thing. It is very scary thing. According to Wikipedia, nervous disease has following symptom; panic, insomnia,sense of self valueless. It may true to this woman.
I think this story should be read connected with feminism. She engaged in feminism activity. At that time, women were restricted within patriachal society. Man thought women that entity who take care of him and make him get back his dignity. Conflicted this idea, women were expected to get married and work in household.  social notion that women should serve men had prevailed. In this story, heroine sometimes express this notion. She says "he takes all care from me, and so I feel basely ungrateful not to value it more."
I think although she is weaken by disease, she hope to be his comfort too seriously. So she thinks she doesn't help her husband. this thought reinforce her weakness.
That is why, she begins to lose her sense gradually. And she complains to him that her disease for sometimes.But he doesn't take them seriously. And what is worse, she hesitates to express her feeling taking care of her husbad. This hesitation derives from notion of patriachal society. She want to help her husband, but dear person doesn't understand her feeling. this despair get her mad dicisively.
When she becomes to have this despair, she find shadow of woman. If she can inform husband of this phenomenon, her destiny would change positively. But she can't do it. She became skeptical to her family. She thought shadow of woman is confined bar. She may associate it with her situation, anyone is not reliable,thet is, bound with this room. In this lonely situation, only shadow of woman becomes her comfort.So she decides to free this woman from bars. But this practically, she doesn't have tie with someone, and she starts to creep her room with madness.  When she almost finishes to peel off the yellow wallpaper, she says "I've got out at last". it imply her success in escaping from this restrictive condition burdened her.
Also, I think color used in this story becomes important indication of her mind. First, I'll talking about the color yellow.  The color yellow is founded on yellowcard and crossing, so called warning color. This coor imply message don't go any more, that is, restriction. in the first period, heroine dislikes this color wallpaper. it express she keep her sense. In story's later period, she choose yellow rather than green.  The color green used for traffic signals, and it's image of fresh green associate with positive mieaning, safety, growth, and boys. This choise indicates her change.


This is my impression. This week I have a lot of homework. It must be very hard days.

This week were very tired from two midterm examination.
But I think I get so-so score. It is all right.

This weekend, I and my friend ate okonomiyaki three days in a row.
It is very delicious Japanese food, but we were fed up with it. But we become increasingly stubborn, and completed to eat it.
we played some video games in those days. It was very fan.

In Tuesday, I took ancient medieval philosophy course, it sometimes gives me very useful lesson for life.
Professor said in class, "When you have time to spare without something disturb you, what you do is express your spirit."
I impressed this words. I imagined scene, there are very quiet and I sitting here alone. I approach something I like with calm concentration. This is very happy thing.
I want to do it, but recently I don't have enough time.  Since I entered this university, I always feel short of my skills, I cannot afford to enjoy favorite things.
I like read literature, I want to read English literature in English. But now, I take a lot of time to read it.
Someday when I equip enough skill, I want to try it. So, I have to study hard English now.

In this week, I read three books.
Yoko Ogawa's Numeral Formula The Professor Loved（博士の愛した数式）, Mahokaru Numata's Purr（猫鳴り）, Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis.

Firstly, I'll talk about Purr.
This novel's title is very beautiful in Japanese.  In this story, hero called his cat's purr "nekonari". this is story's title.
The Chinese characters mean cat and sound comprise the word "nekonari"
indeed the words signifying cat's purr are not exist in Japanese. But this word "nekonari" make people associate cat's purr clearly.
I think this title is very literary expression.
I think books have good title is very good works. I attracted this title.
This title should attract people love cat.
When I read it, I was amazed by description of human and cat.
Author draws old man and cat's life not care for each other, but as if they are dissolved into one.
text express hero's feeling that " Toji (hero) consent Mon (cat), Mon assent him, their everything dissolve ambiguously and feel easy.
Toji think he has never share this feeling with people.
He infers "if preceding words, relation probably lose something important instead."
In this story, author wrote youth is the thing, beautiful, but excessive and useless.
Losing youth, Toji loses Hope. He want something hope even if it is like a will-o'-the wisp.
He feels he is proceeding toward death. He think it is inevitable, but also dread it in his mind.
His cat also go to death. But the time comes faster than his.
although Mon is weakening slowly, this cat lives as it is.
this way to life cheer up him. He receive message from cat "it's all right, let's go a little more".
Cat can't speak, so it may be not true.
But I think this is the answer that their lives made him reached.
I learned how to be non-verbal relation.

I want to talk about another two stories, but I haven't enough time. I have another class preparation.

today, I played band music for the first time when I enrolled this school.
Because I play music with amplifier for the first time in a long time, it was very fun!
my members are very good people. I ate dinner with them.
I like listen to music, but playing music is more interesting.
It allows me to enjoy music further.

Recently, I feel always something wrong with me.
I feel fatigue all day. I want concentrate something hard, but it prevent me from doing so.
I think I must try everything more harder.

In last week, I gave presentation in speaking class.
I talk about Bob Dylan's song Forever Young. It is very good song.
Bob Dylan always sing about something difficult to understand,but this song is very straight song.
He sings for his son.  This song became picture book for children last year.
If one parent gives this book his child, I think this parent is very good person.
He wishes his child's happiness, expressing one's love is very good thing.

this week, I read Miyabe Miyuki's BRAVE STORY.
I found this book in secondhand book store. It has very big volume, reaches about 1500 pages.
But it sold at 250 yen! very profitable!
this story is fantasy story. I think this genre is for children at first.
But she also writes mystery fiction. And she is very famous writer in Japan.
So, this book is very interesting for me.
This story's plot is that hero experiences very sad things, his parent's divorce. And he decides to go to Vision, it is fictional world produced by humans image.
If he succeed in this imaginary world for traveler, he can make his wish true.

I think this story is worth reading for everyone.
It has very heavy theme. What is justice?
It describes several people. everyone has various thought, aim, trauma.
For example, hero's father have illicit love with another woman.
Hero wants him to return his home, but father says, "If your idea makes your familiar person angry, do you think bending my belief is right?"
I think this question is very difficult. indeed, there social morals, but everyone has belief.
If one side becomes so called justice, other side becomes evil.
But then, is it good thing sweeping other side's feeling?
this question continues to blame hero.
But his boss said to him.
"Wataru ( hero's name), your heart feel things is wrong, you must follow your mind."
She advise him to conflict people whether you can understand each other or not.
It is her own idea, so perhaps someone opposed her. But I think good thing having own principle.
She is very strong person. 
What is justice? it is very difficult question. I want to have my answer and be more fixed person.

By the way, June start.
I like rain, but I find laundry is hard to dry.  My first June living by myself will be more blue.

these days, becoming hot increasingly.

This week, I'll talk about Yumoto Kazumi's Autumn of poplar.
Story is mainly heroine's memory when she was child.
When she is seven years old, her father dies and she moved Poplar apartment.
this apartment's caretaker is old woman. she say "I have a duty."
Her duty is "postman." she receives letters from people who lose someone, and When she dies, then carry them to heaven and send them to address.
she suggest heroine to write letter to her father. Heroine start to writing.

I read two works this author wrote.
both of them, story describes relation between child and old person.
I feel this author is very good at writing stubborn the senior.
I like process  obstinate old person gets along with child she draw.
I think people can change through communication. communication accompanies mutual progress.
This heroine is very coward.  She pay attention to several needs.
this description thoughtful girl for her age is interest for me.

I'll list phrases in this work I like.(Sorry for bad translation, but text is very good  original text.)
"Old woman's moving eyes at bottom of valley between her forehead and jaw tells me she is Popeye becoming  bad person by dosing strange drug."
This Portrayal is very interesting! It reminds me of typical Japanese old woman.
In fact, they look like Popeye! But if Japanese old woman has strong arms like him, I cannot stop laughing.

"My image about summer is still shadow deepening with full of the light and silence embraced with this shadow."
I sympathize with this. there are filled with Sound of cicadas, gigantic columns of clouds, blue sky in outside.
In contrast, my room is very quiet. I see vivid world  through  window.  But my space seem to be stopped.
It is very quiet summer as if I was isolated from vigorous summer.
It is very comfortable but something is loneliness.  I think it is great expression causing several feeling.
I impressed with it.

"It is time to stop deceiving myself. I feel anxiousness like that I  am left alone at foreign unknown station. I must decide my destination,but Where to go?"
This express her feeling she must stop wandering.  She must hurry otherwise she miss train that make her restart her life.
Using word "train" imply something lead person to somewhere.
In this story, she resigned hospital, and she is at a loss. So, this expression imply her step.
I like this phrase "It is time to stop deceiving myself."
Deceiving myself is easy thing, but it is difficult recover from this condition.
What pushes her back is her memory in Popular apartment.
I think  it is main theme the process she reaches this determination.

I want to recommend it someone.

April has passed.
For me, April is very hard time.  I always feel times proceed very slowly when I try to do something keenly.
So, this time was stimulative and very fruitful.

In my holiday, I read two books.
Onda Riku's Neverland（ネバーランド） and Yumoto Kazumi's summer garden(夏の庭）.
This two are juvenile stories. I like it very much.
Because there are strength every child has. they advance through one experience.
whatever things wewould feel tired and common is flesh, so they tackle with everything with joy and surprise.
they have their own thoughts. these may be vary from adults thinking.
But sometimes they can express the world with words only they can use.
Because It is often intuitive and innocent, I envy it.
Also, in story, they faced with problem which can not solve only them.
they are helped by the world of adult, but then tehy feel the world around them are very narrow, it is end of the childhood world.
I think this transience is attraction of Juvenile story.

I visited to my friend's apartment house. He is Hiroshima University student.
Hiroshima University is very big, so there are bus stop around the college's cardinal points.
When I took a taxi, driver cheered me, I want to thank him.
My friend's room was very tidy, additionally, he was very good at housework. I must take a leaf him.
We had a great times. We are stranger Because Each of us had start Colleage students life in new surroundings.
So, we felt comfortable meeting very close friend. It was very nice time.
But we ate grilled meat. it was bad to us.
We vomit very much all that day. it was very regrettable.

Recovering from this symptom, I returned to my hometown.
It is very rural district in Yamaguchi prefecture. It is surrounded by nature.
My cat rememberd me, Iwas very happy.
But it was sad that I could not meet with my friends there because of day I spended there was May 5.
My friends who return hometown was already backed.
I was supposed to return Tokyo this day. But I feel sick again.
So I backed 6. I took the Shinkansen and reach Tokyo, and I soon take a lecture. I fatigued.

By the way, I felt last month It is very hard to keep abreast of College lectures.
So I enrolled english conversation school.
class is not difficult in substance, but I found it is challenging  to talk with people in english.
My english was for taking tests, but I must train skill that tell something to someone henthforth.
I wish it helped me in the future.

Writing a blog is very hard to me.
Because I don't have something to talk.
Sometimes I worry that I may be empty person.
But also it is my motivation because I am stimulated by writing it.
When I write very interesting diary, I may enrich my life.
So, I want to fill this diary happy experience.

Two weeks passed when class started.
It was very fast, because I was desperate preparing for classes.
I found my way to preparing for class is not enough to get more thing from lesson.
The more study I did, the more understandable class be.
So, I must adapt me to university style.

I'll talk about circle activities.
  I'm belonging to three class,light music club, literature cub,and glee club.
In literature club, I always a good time when I drop on it.
IIn sophia university, students are came from comparatively urban district, for example, Kanto or Kinki district.
So I'm called Yamaguchi-kun by them, because I'm from Yamaguchi prefecture.
But I'm feel happy to be called by nickname.
By the way, too disappointed for me,  I can't attend club's study meeting.
It is the event that club member explains about literature they chose,.
It is carried out every Monday and Friday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00.
but I have fifth period both days,  it is from five to six thirty.
  Next, about glee club.
I don't intend to participate this club completely.
But in freshman week, I was talked by them.
I was glad ro be call out me, but not interest in it.
But, I think, " If I participate in only meal meeting, I may find person who be friend for me."
Participating the meeting, I found these people in this circle is very good people!
They are being very friend to me!
So I enrolled this circle. It is funny saying it that I feel It's like a deception in writing it.

I read Catcher In The Rye.
I feel empathy with this story's hero.
In my analogy, He don't have anything but he has inferiority complex.
he use the word "phony", it is express his complaint.
I feel it stands his feeling of inferiority,so he disguise it through denying someone.
I think It is represent general teenager's feeling.
This story proceeds in first person. It is very interesting.
It doesn't have any dramatic scene. So I feel boredom.
But as reading, I was absorbed in his talking.
when he visit his teacher, the teacher say to him,"person who go collapsed is no bottom which understandable soon."
When I am in laziness, I stop thinking and don't feel anything.
Sometimes I felt I'm in tiredness, but feel itself comfortable.
I understand later I spend time with no benefit.
If I had used this time something to helpful,I would be better man.
But also, I like this melancholic feeling.
this emotion would never able to understand  without stand same position.
If I only do good thing and try to hard, I would have more confidence in oneself.
But I don't think want to be so.
how feel what around me. it forms my identity.
indeed, I may have distorted personality, but it help me to understand something in my way.
Maybe, my view would be thought interesting by someone, If so,I am happy.

P.S. I had loved EXILE, but....I was betrayed them.

I'm from Yamaguchi prefecture.
I want to learn actively this class to improve my English skills.
I was astonished when first lecture because 90 minutes passed only English.
I hardly understood it,but I must try to understand it as possible as I can.
Someday,If I can interpret fully,my English skills will be developed.

I'm not good at speaking with someone.
So I'm afraid that "can I make friends in this college?
I think that I want to communicate with someone through class,circle activity,and so on.

I feel this assignment is too difficult for me because I've never try to write something in English.
I feel frustrate that I can't write what I think write.

I like reading books. So I came school faster than everyone,and read books in class room sitting behind electronic organ when I was elementary school student.
But when I entered middle school, I stopped to read completely, because I participated in baseball club.
when I read books, I concentrate on only reading, so I cant do other thing.
Being high school student,I resume reading books, but I can't read with image.
when I was primary school student, reading was full of images in my mind. Although there were some of illustrations.
I'm not good at imagine spectacle in book. so it spoils my reading.
But,if I can interpret spectacle in word, I think, reading will be more joyful thing.
So I want to learn about literature in this university to more knowledge about word.

I like video games too.

they often said bad aspects,but I don't thnk so.

they content text, image,and music. I think they were equal to movies.

I think games rather more easily empathy than movies in terms of manufacture oneself.

also,games are interesting in a view of the wold.

Dragon Quest, one of the my favorite games,is based on Middle age Europe.

there were chruch per villeges.

In village,there were painter, it is include boss and pupil.

these description are very interesting. the more knowing about world, the more interesting play games.

This university teaches about Cristian thought.

I'm not an cristian, but interest in it.

It connects several thoughts,so knowing it must deepen my thought.

I don't take classes about it yet. I'm looking for it.

I like music very much.

I like Oasis, Talking Heads, Red Hot Chilli peppers, Bob Dylan, The Beatles,Maroon5, Nickel back, etc.

Especially Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone, Red Hot Chilli Peppers's Dosed.

My favorite song is too large,so I can't write down here.

I play bass guitar, so I like band music.

I met several people through play music,so I like it.

Lastly, I will write my impression about this college.

It equips very large library.

When I went the seventh floor, there are very quiet,so I could study very comfortable.

when I go out of university through main gate, soonly catch the sight of a array of cherry trees.

I like it very much,when blooming is very good, but after flower was gone, they have color beautiful green.

I'll like this school. I want to enjoy college life.
